I Chainsaw Awards sono un riconoscimento istituito 15 anni fa dalla rivista cartacea Fangoria, assegnato alle migliori opere horror cinematografiche, televisive e musicali. L'edizione del 2006 sarà così importante che diventerà un evento mediatico in stile MTV music awards. La premiazione sarà trasmessa il 22 ottobre sul circuito televisivo statunitense di Fuse TV, e vanterà ospiti importanti ed esibizioni musicali dal vivo. L'evento sarà presentato da star di cinema horror e musica come Rob Zombie, Sheri Moon, Jamie Kennedy e Slipknot.

La grande novità di quest'anno è che sarà il pubblico a scegliere i vincitori. Collegandosi al sito www.fuse.tv/chainsaw/ si potranno votare i più amati (e i più odiati) film e personaggi horror. Ma ci sarà tempo fino al 13 ottobre (un venerdì, guarda caso).

Nel frattempo, per gli amanti delle classifiche riportiamo la lista dei candidati. Il nome del vincitore non sarà così scontato, considerando che il plebiscito via web avrà una certa importanza. E, guardando i titoli in lizza come miglior film, c'è da giurare che sarà una lotta all'ultimo sangue.
